Does security film actually stop a break-in?
Security film does not make glass unbreakable — it keeps broken glass bonded to the frame so an intruder cannot step through quickly. That delay is usually enough to defeat a smash-and-grab and trigger a response. It also contains flying shards during hurricanes and impacts.
